Join us for this special dinner on Monday 12th December to showcase the fine Brunello di Montalcino red wines from Biondi-Santi. Giampaiero Bertolini, CEO of Biondi-Santi will join us from Florence via Zoom at the beginning of the dinner, to introduce the estate, and three new release wines – the 2019 ‘Rosso’, 2016 ‘Brunello’ and 2015 ‘Riserva’.
Chef de Cuisine Jun Kai and the team at Bâtard will serve a menu put together especially for these wines.
Biondi-Santi is the inventor of Brunello di Montalcino, the most noble expression of the Sangiovese grape in Tuscany. An aristocratic family, they were the first to pioneer a fine red wine capable of long ageing that would sit alongside the greatest wines of Europe. Extremely high standards, combined with a great terroir, old vines, traditional maturation in large oak botti and then bottle, remain the order of the day.
What is additionally so impressive about Biondi-Santi is its true-to-place individuality. Complexity of fragrance and flavour, and fine tension between fruit acidity and tannin lend timelessness and avoid the formulaically bland international anonymity of so many wines today.
A very limited number of seats is available for this event – please don’t delay buying yours, and we look forward to seeing you on 12th December.
