Andy Crozier from Burn Cottage in Central Otago, New Zealand, is coming to visit us in October, so we’ve created a special dinner to give you the opportunity to meet him and to learn about these Pinot Noirs at Shanghainese private kitchen Lu Luwan. This dinner is a classic East meets West (or more accurately, East meets South) event. Andy has dipped into the estate’s cellars to bring us a 2013 back vintage from this NZ star. And a new addition to Burn Cottage’s range, a single vineyard Sauvage Vineyard Pinot Noir from Bannockburn which we will show for the first time in Hong Kong. There is also a wonderfully idiosyncratic estate-grown white – a blend of Riesling and Grüner Veltliner.

Burn Cottage’s wines made waves soon after their inaugural 2009 vintage, testament to the quality of the terroir and the team in place. Owner Marquis Sauvage had Ted Lemon (of Littorai and Roulot fame) consult at the estate’s creation – conceived on full organic and biodynamic principles right from first planting. Burn Cottage is led by Claire Mulholland, one of the most respected vigneronnes in New Zealand. This is one of Linden’s very favourite New Zealand estates, and he has been impressed by Burn Cottage’s ethos, the quality of its site, its team, and its wines one several visits over the years. Top sommeliers here in Hong Kong who have visited Burn Cottage and Central Otago are big fans of the wines too.

So we are excited about this opportunity to dive deeper with you, and to be joined in person this evening by Andy Crozier from Burn Cottage.
