We are thrilled to be able to now launch The Fine Wine Experience Burghound Symposium 2026 programme. This year join us with Allen Meadows (and Mrs Burghound too!), as we tour Shanghai, Tokyo, and Bangkok!
It’s time to put some annual leave in your calendar, or schedule some must-attend meetings in these three cities that just happen to coincide with these dinner events. What a happy coincidence!
Pick one city, pick two, or come join us as we tour all three!
We have some great rare wines dinners for 2026 – 2001: 25 Years On in Shanghai, Richebourg & Romanée-St-Vivant in depth in Tokyo, and Échezeaux Icons in Bangkok. We also have three great educational dinners – 2016 Vosne-Romanée1er Crus in Shanghai, 2017 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Crus in Tokyo, and Finding Your White Burgundy 1er Cru Style in Bangkok. There’s something here for every Burgundy novice and aficionado alike.
All events are ticketed here in Hong Kong (local payment), and in HK dollars, so it’s easy to join. Get your tickets now at - events@finewineexperience.com or call +852 2803 0753. There are also Early Bird ticket special prices that are valid until 13th February 2026 (subject to not being sold out prior – these small-scale events often sell out quickly). So, check your diary, make your travel excuses, and come have fun with us in Shanghai, Bangkok, and Tokyo!
Twenty five years is a great moment of review a classic vintage – most of the great wines will have
reached their peak, but not yet slipped into decline, and the distance of time also allows us to
appreciate the vintage itself in historical context. The vintage itself threw plenty of challenges at the
vigneron (especially for the whites), the vintage is today of high interest to the Burgundy enthusiast.
As Allen noted, ‘While the ’01 reds were not charming initially, from the beginning we viewed these as
classically styled Burgundies of elegance, grace, refinement and transparency.’ Over dinner at 1929 by
Guillaume Galliot we will take a deep dive into the 2001 vintage through the lens of some of the most
iconic and high performing domaines (Leroy, DRC, Roumier…), and a wide range of top vineyards –
mostly grand cru, led by the master of the subject, Allen Meadows.
