BURGHOUND SYMPOSIUM

Burghound Symposium

We are thrilled to be able to now launch The Fine Wine Experience Burghound Symposium 2026 programme. This year join us with Allen Meadows (and Mrs Burghound too!), as we tour Shanghai, Tokyo, and Bangkok!

It’s time to put some annual leave in your calendar, or schedule some must-attend meetings in these three cities that just happen to coincide with these dinner events. What a happy coincidence!

Pick one city, pick two, or come join us as we tour all three!

We have some great rare wines dinners for 2026 – 2001: 25 Years On in Shanghai, Richebourg & Romanée-St-Vivant in depth in Tokyo, and Échezeaux Icons in Bangkok. We also have three great educational dinners – 2016 Vosne-Romanée1er Crus in Shanghai, 2017 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Crus in Tokyo, and Finding Your White Burgundy 1er Cru Style in Bangkok. There’s something here for every Burgundy novice and aficionado alike.

All events are ticketed here in Hong Kong (local payment), and in HK dollars, so it’s easy to join. Get your tickets now at - events@finewineexperience.com or call +852 2803 0753. There are also Early Bird ticket special prices that are valid until 13th February 2026 (subject to not being sold out prior – these small-scale events often sell out quickly). So, check your diary, make your travel excuses, and come have fun with us in Shanghai, Bangkok, and Tokyo!

RARE WINE DINNER: Richebourg & Romanée-St-Vivant In Depth

Join us for this in depth look at two of the leading Vosne-Romanée Grand Crus – Richebourg and

Romanée-St-Vivant. A single wine from either vineyard would make the pinnacle of any dinner, but the

chance to compare these two icons side by side will give us the chance to really understand each one

deeply, guided in person by leading Burgundy expert Allen Meadows. Allen has been publishing his

Burgundy report quarterly at Burghound.com for 25 years, and wrote his first book especially about the

vineyards and wines of Vosne-Romanée – The Pearl of the Côte – in 2010.

Asked years ago to describe and contrast the character of Richebourg and RSV, DRC’s Aubert de Villaine

responded that Romanée-St-Vivant was about delicacy, femininity, seduction and perfume, while Riche-

bourg was about great power, explosiveness (in youth) and intensity. As we compare the two, is that

what we will discover, or is the picture more complicated? To answer this question with Allen’s guidance

we have selected a range of the leading producers of these two fabled grand cru vineyards – including

DRC and Domaine Leroy. Our vintage selection this evening – spanning 2008-1990, ensures that all wines

are drinking with enough maturity to reveal the full complexity for which these grand crus are capable.
