Then, for something a bit more casual in July, come blind taste with us on 18th July. Last summer, I started up a blind tasting series on Saturday afternoons, and now it’s back. For our next session our theme is Anything But Chardonnay. That’s right, while I love Chardonnay, let’s devote this tasting to all those other amazing white grapes that produce delicious wines that are equally fun to taste blind. So, think grapes like Riesling, Viognier, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Marsanne, Roussanne, Malvasia, Grüner Veltliner and Aligoté.
This blind tasting series is different from our regular “Vintage Pairs” blind tasting that happens every other month because there are no pairs to guide you through. The tasting will include eight wines all tasted blind; we will taste in flights of four wines each. When you arrive, you will receive the list of wines for the tasting, so this event is semi-blind. This blind tasting session is for all, both the expert and the beginner. We will proceed through the tasting together in an analytical way to uncover the answer of wine region, producer and vintage.
