A legendary wine estate dating back to 1112, Domaine de la Commaraine is rewriting its future in Burgundy. This historic Pommard domaine boasts the prestigious Premier Cru Clos de la Commaraine, under revitalization through sustainable, organic farming methods. The vineyard adopted sustainable farming years ago and switched to organic methods in 2017, earning Organic Certification with the 2021 vintage. A Biodynamic certification is expected by 2025. In 2018, the estate began a revival, expanding its vineyards to include Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits premier cru sites. In 2020, it started farming vineyards in Chambolle Musigny, Nuits Saint Georges 1er cru Aux Bousselots, and Roncière. By 2022, the estate added Saint Aubin 1er cru Les Murgers des Dents de Chien, and in early 2023, it included vineyards in Volnay 1er cru En Champans, Meursault 1er cru Les Santenots, Pommard 1er cru les Fremiets and les Chanlins bas, and Volnay.
