Please join us for our Hospices de Beaune Burgundy dinner at Duddell’s, with special guests Jasper Morris MW, and the Director of the Hospices de Beaune, M. François Poher.
The Fine Wine Experience has been participating in the Hospices de Beaune wine auction since 2005 when Christie’s took the helm. Over the years we have developed a successful programme to simplify and to add value to the process for our customers here in Hong Kong and around the region. We do this by visiting, tasting every cuvée every year, understanding the vintage and the wines that performed best at each level, buying the wines and arranging their tending at the best domaines, and then customising the bottling and labelling (official labels personalised for you) by the quarter barrel share (eq.72 bottes), and then shipping and delivering the wines to your cellar in Hong Kong.
I have known Jasper for about 16 years and I can promise you it is impossible to be bored in his good company. He brings an acute mind and nearly 40 years experience as a specialist importer to the UK of Burgundy. He is also author of Inside Burgundy, one of the most tattered volumes in the Fine Wine Experience library because we refer to it so often. We’re delighted to see that he is now devoting himself full-time to writing on the subject, with insideburgundy.com soon to launch. He also represents Christie’s for the Hospices de Beaune.
Monsieur François Poher, who will also join us at this intimate dinner, now leads a domaine that last year produced 787 barrels of wine. That makes the Hospices a very important domaine in its own right, but more so since its purpose is to raise money (EUR 13.5m last year) for its charitable works. It sits at the heart of the spirit of Burgundy, and its annual auction forms the centrepiece for the whole Burgundy region to take a small rest on the third Sunday of November, to celebrate.
So please join The Fine Wine Experience and our special guests, for a great range of the domaine’s wines, and Duddell’s Cantonese delicacies :
